BJ's Wholesale Club, a leading operator of membership warehouse clubs in the Eastern United States, is continuing its expansion by opening four new clubs, the first phase of its 2022 development plans.

The company's newest clubs will be located in Warwick, RI, Lady Lake, FL, Canton, MI, and Greenburgh, NY.

California strawberry season is under way, and with it comes a lot of excitement for this year’s crop. The California Strawberry Commission noted that nearly one-third of consumers named strawberries as their favorite in a recent national survey.

The CSC represents more than 300 strawberry farmers, shippers and processors, collaboratively working together to advance the position, principles, and market for California strawberries.

Near the end of the 2021 leafy greens growing season on California’s Central Coast, the LGMA program made updates to its food-safety standards. As the 2022 Central Coast growing season kicks off, LGMA members have several new requirements related to food safety.

Walt Dasher of G&R Farms is donating $2,500 to World Central Kitchen to support the efforts of Chef Jose Andres' feeding operations as they prepare meals for Ukrainian refugees. WCK is serving meals at eight border crossings across the country and supporting local restaurants preparing meals in eight Ukrainian cities, including in Odessa, Lviv and Kyiv. WCK teams are also on the ground in Romania, Moldova, and Hungary.

ORLANDO, FL — The produce industry gathered in force the first week in March at the Southeast Produce Council's Southern Exposure 2022 conference and trade show to celebrate "The Marvel of Produce" and reconnect in person with colleagues and friends. For many attendees, it was the first time they had seen one another in a couple of years, as the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic finally seems to be in the rearview mirror. This year's event drew more than 2,800 registrations, including more than 500 retail, foodservice, wholesale buyers.
