Growers overwhelmingly support the expansion of Zespri Global Supply
New Zealand kiwifruit growers have supported the expansion of Zespri Global Supply, approving the allocation of up to 420 additional hectares of Zespri SunGold kiwifruit per year over six years across Italy, France, Japan, South Korea and Greece.
Warmer temperatures following the Thanksgiving Holiday in the Southwestern desert growing regions have helped overall growth rates and quality in many of the current crops.
The 2024 New York Produce Show trade show kicked off at the Javits Center the morning of Dec. 11 and traffic remained strong throughout the day. The one-day show featured more than 400 companies — and more than 4,000 attendees were expected. Buyers make up 40 percent of attendees and all exhibitors have the same-sized booth, which means all companies are on an equal playing field.
Albertsons terminates merger agreement, files lawsuit against Kroger
Albertsons Cos. announced it has exercised its right to terminate its merger agreement with Kroger after the U.S. District Court in Oregon and the King County Superior Court for the State of Washington issued injunctions with respect to the proposed merger Dec. 10.
