ALDI U.S. CEO Jason Hart has been promoted to join the executive board of ALDI South as group chief operating officer. Hart will help oversee the company’s global operations in Salzburg, Austria, effective Sept. 1. Atty McGrath, currently chief operating officer, will assume the ALDI U.S. CEO role.

The New Jersey Blueberry Industry Advisory Council has blueberry growers in the Garden State collective backs.

Officials at the Trenton, NJ-based council, a state-run organization that takes a small fee from growers in New Jersey, wants everyone to know that they are working very hard to ensure that they are helping to protect the industry in New Jersey. The state accounts for about 45 million pounds of blueberry production annually, the sixth largest harvest among states in the country.

Almost 11 years ago, Market Basket's board of directors fired Arthur T. Demoulas, president and CEO, along with two other executives: Bill Marsden, director of operations; and Joe Rockwell, vice president of grocery. Combined, the three men had been with the company for more than 110 years. A few months later the company was sold and Demoulas and his team returned to power.
