Albertsons Southern California Division created magical in-store displays to highlight the robust selection of "Disney" brand California-grown fruits.

Each store created a custom display for the "Disney" brand fruit and competed among one another to win an assortment of prizes.  

Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc., a grower-owned cooperative based in Lakeville-Middleboro, MA, announced its latest estimate for the 2013 cranberry crop, with the harvest just under way.

Providing conditions stay as expected, Ocean Spray believes the global industry crop will range between 11.1 million and 11.5 million barrels, coming in close to the 2012 global industry crop of 11.2 million barrels.

Church Bros., a leading grower-shipper of Western vegetables, based in Salinas, CA, continued the expansion of its sales team with the addition of ROCHELLE WELSH as sales assistant, effective Sept. 8.

CrowleyFresh, which opened in Miami in early 2013, is a joint offering by Crowley Maritime Corp., headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, and Customized Brokers, a Customs brokerage company also in Miami. CrowleyFresh offers perishable shippers a new state-of-the-art, cold storage warehouse facility with multiple humidity and temperature-controlled coolers.

Business is booming at Loop Fresh Produce in McAllen, TX. An alliance with the Allen Lund Co. in Los Angeles forged last year has been so successful the company has recently expanded its berry-storage capacity and added a new employee.

The company is also expanding its LTL transportation services into the Northeast and Midwest, in addition to major markets in the Southeast and Texas.
