Market Fresh Produce hired Jacobo Yanes as the new warehouse and operations manager at its Monett, MO, facility. In this role, Yanes will assist in managing the company's newly renovated repacking facility while supervising employees, ensuring quality produce, and implementing standard facility policies and procedures.

The board of directors at BC Hot House Foods announced that Colin Chapdelaine has been appointed to the position of president. The company said he brings a wealth of produce knowledge, personality, and passion to the position.

Southern Valley has redesigned and revamped its packinglines for peppers, squash and cucumbers this year, meaning it can run more volume faster and be able to have more consistent quality.

“When we are running volume, now we can do it quicker,” said Dug Schwalls, director of sales at Southern Valley. “The product is more spaced out so we can pack the right quality in every box.”

Denver — Since moving into its new central Denver location in 2014, longtime Colorado Front Ranger brokerage Ringer & Son has expanded not only form but also its function with the addition of a retail outlet.

According to Ringer President Joshua Johnson, the operation moved from Commerce City on the eastern side of metro Denver to a warehouse/office district east of Colorado Boulevard and south of Interstate 70 in the Northeast Park Hill neighborhood. Some 9,000 square feet of the building is being utilized, with the ability to enlarge as the need arises.

RIDGE SPRING, SC —Peaches are budding on the orchards here along the South Carolina ridgeland in mid-April, dogwood is in bloom and spring has sprung. And at Titan Farms, here, a new sales team is on the job and looking at the daunting task of selling 2 million 25-pound cases of peaches. That’s 50 million pounds of peaches, a lot for a team of six.
