The ShopRite of Cortlandt, NY, announced the debut of Fresh to Table, an innovative store-within-a-store concept where customers can find fresh, on-trend foods and easy-to-prepare ingredients and meal solutions in a variety of grab-and-go formats.

Trucco announced its Produce for Life 7 initiative, which was created in collaboration with Medrano to benefit child cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Proceeds from every purchase of kiwifruit from Trucco and limes from Medrano will be donated to MSK Kids in honor of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

In partnership with Southern Virginia Vegetable Packing LLC, the Brunswick County Industrial Development Authority will build a $4.2 million, 45,000-square-foot, produce processing and packing facility in Alberta, VA.

The facility will be operated by Old Dominion Organic Farms and help to increase organic produce growing in the area. It’s projected that farmers will process approximately $24 million worth of Virginia-grown vegetables, with 80 percent being organic in the near future.
