Crystal Valley Foods has finalized the acquisition of additional bays on the Los Angeles Wholesale Terminal Market, adjacent to its current location.  This expansion has doubled the facility’s space, creating additional cold storage capacity and room for increased inventory and products.

Northeast Grocery Inc., the parent company of Price Chopper/Market 32 and Tops Markets, announced the upcoming retirement of CEO Scott Grimmett and named former Tops Markets Chairman and CEO Frank Curci to that position. Grimmett’s retirement will be effective in February.

Associated Potato Growers Inc. is one of the largest volume shippers of potatoes in the Red River Valley, with 17 North Dakota and Minnesota farmers bringing the goods for the company, which is headquartered in Grand Forks, ND, with operations also in Grafton and Drayton.

The National Mango Board is seeking nominations for seven open board member positions. The board’s mission is to increase awareness and consumption of fresh mangos in the United States and to inspire and educate consumers about the culture, flavor and nutrition of the versatile superfruit while bringing the mango industry together.

Mango industry members are encouraged to complete a nomination application for the following available seats, with a final deadline to submit by Feb. 25:

SpartanNash announced the addition of Bennett Morgan to its executive leadership team. Morgan will serve as senior vice president and chief merchandising officer, effective Jan. 24. He will report to SpartanNash President and CEO Tony Sarsam.

The New England Produce Council has announced a date change for its annual dinner dance gala, due to the spike in COVID-19 cases.

The gala, previously set for Feb. 5, will now take place on Saturday, March 26. The venue remains the same: the InterContinental Hotel in Boston.
