Today, Publix broke ground on its first store in Louisville, Kentucky, located at the northwest corner of Terra Crossing Boulevard and Old Henry Road in Jefferson County. Kentucky will mark Publix’s eighth state of operation.

Equitable Food Initiative, the multi-stakeholder workforce development and certification organization that partners with growers, farmworkers, retailers and consumer groups, has named two new board members. Fernanda Suárez will now represent NatureSweet Tomatoes, and Natalie Camacho Mendoza takes the place of retiring Bruce Goldstein for Farmworker Justice.

Stater Bros. Markets is pleased to announce the promotion of Bertha Luna to the position of Senior Vice President Retail Operations, effective immediately. In this role, she will report directly to Stater Bros. President Greg McNiff and will be responsible for leading the retail operations of all the company’s stores. Luna will serve as a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team, which evaluates and sets key strategies for the company.

Camposol’s avocado season is now in full swing. Following the expansion of its avocado production in Colombia as a complement to the operations in Peru, the company is now broadening its focus to include additional areas to develop further sourcing alternatives and strengthen the supply of avocados all year round.
