Donald Christopher, who started Gilroy, CA-based Christopher Ranch in 1956 at the tender age of 22 and grew it into the leading producer of fresh garlic in the United States, died at the age of 87 on Dec. 12, 2022.

Homegrown Organic Farms has expanded its Equitable Food Initiative certified acreage and organic commodities, earning the certification in the citrus category. Oppy is starting off the plum season with this specialty item the first week of February through mid-March. Limited volumes will arrive on the East Coast for a select niche market.
