Courtney Lane of Zirkle Fruit Co. is the Washington Apple Education Foundation Individual Volunteer of the Year.  Her recognition was announced last week at a company production meeting held in Selah, WA.  While the meeting was pre-planned, the interruption from WAEF with the special announcement occurred as a surprise to her.

Envy apples will be celebrating the best of the holidays with the Hallmark Channel and its “Countdown to Christmas,” the network’s popular annual series of all-new original holiday films. With its 24/7 holiday programming, the Hallmark Channel has for the past four years ranked as the most-watched network in Q4 with women aged 25-54.

Beginning in mid-November, Envy apples will be featured on Hallmark Channel’s broadcast, social, and digital properties to inspire millions of consumers to include the premium apple in their holiday recipes, décor and more.

The Kanzi apple, known as “the Foodie’s Choice,” has won a series of blind taste tests and is the noted preference of chefs and bakers nationwide.

Originally discovered in Belgium and now grown in premium orchards worldwide, the Kanzi apple has developed a reputation as a market leader for its crunchy bite and delicious, well-balanced sweet and sour flavor profile.

Apple and cherry growers, Neal and Louisa Carter are credited with the development of Arctic apples. Neal, a trained bioresource engineer, has previously worked on agricultural projects around the globe. From first-hand experience, he felt the need to improve food systems and decrease food waste using science and technology. Seeing the decline of apple consumption in the U.S., he recognized the need to increase the consumption by providing a healthy, delicious and wholesome alternative through Arctic apples.

This week Pink Lady Apples is encouraging consumers to “Cozy Up & Share the Love” with a social media promotion that features new seasonal recipes and a giveaway for two. The effort celebrates the Fall apple season and a time when baking, staying in and all things cozy are dominating 2020 trends. Widely known as an apple that’s great for baking, Pink Lady also made the menu of an upcoming virtual class led by Martha Stewart and put on by Sur La Table.
