The Eastern Produce Council hosted its 47th annual golf outing June 14 at Fox Hollow Golf Club in Branchburg, NJ.

Following golf and a cocktail hour and dinner, Rich Martin, a member of the EPC’s Golf Committee, recognized the winning team of Raul Millan, Eurice Rojas, Oscar Castro and Johnnie Pandolfino of Vision Import Group, as well as second place team Ed Swartz of Nagoya, Kurt Zuhlke of Produce Packaging and Mark Gartenfeld.

Now that summer has arrived, New York’s deep collection of growers are busy at work, harvesting its finest produce over the next few months.

According to the USDA’s most recent Ag Census, there were 33,438 farms in New York State and 6,866,171 acres in production, with the state being among the top five in grapes, green peas and squash.

The Telly Awards, one of the largest honors for video and television content across all screens, recently announced this year's winners. The New York Apple Association's new commercial featuring New York apple growers won a prestigious bronze Telly award.

The commercial was produced by Rochester, NY-based creative agency Mason Marketing and the New York Apple Association.
