The International Fresh Produce Association's annual Foodservice Conference — the most important five hours for produce in foodservice — took over Monterey, CA, July 30-Aug. 1 with all of the important players in the fresh foodservice supply chain. This year’s conference featured one of the most diverse collections of buyers, record-breaking attendance, a sold-out expo and a growing number of field tour programs for chefs and K-12 operators.
“Go west, young man,” newspaper editor Horace Greeley famously said in the mid-18th century, trying to encourage people to move from the crowded Northeast corridor of the country to the wide-open spaces of much of the rest of the nation.
