Hy-Vee Inc. will host its sixth Best of Local Brands Summit in May to expand and enhance the product offerings at its more than 285 retail stores in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin. More than 100 new brands were selected from the first four summits combined and are now available to Hy-Vee customers. Brand selection from the fifth summit that was held in February is under way.

Mann Packing Co. Inc. has partnered with Mezete, a ready-to-eat food brand, to bring a line of hummus products to American shoppers nationwide.

Through this new partnership, Mann Packing Co. will help bring product awareness to Mezete’s new hummus arrivals to revolutionize packaged foods and provide nutrition, taste and convenience to its consumers. The hummus variations are available in five signature flavors: Sundried Tomatoes, Zesty Mixed Herbs, Fire Roasted Red Pepper, Red Hot Chili and Classic Authentic Recipe.

The Canadian Produce Marketing Association announced the participants for the 2022 Passion for Produce Program in Montreal.

Fresh Farms, a year-round grower, shipper and leader in table grape and vegetable distribution, has hired David Watson as its new senior vice president of sales and marketing. Watson will head the Arizona and California sales teams, leveraging his past experience to complement and improve sales strategies and current processes.

Target Corp. announced its most sustainable store to date, as the site will generate more renewable energy than it needs annually to operate and will test multiple innovations to reduce the building’s emissions. The Vista, CA, store’s retrofit and new features will inform Target’s investments in new stores and remodel programs that support its long-term growth and help guide the retailer’s efforts to achieve its sustainability goals.
