The U.S. Department of Agriculture has imposed sanctions on Sunrise International LLC in Miami for violating the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act. These sanctions include barring the business and the principal operator of the business from engaging in PACA licensed business or other activities without approval from USDA.

The Center for Growing Talent has announced that the Women’s Catalyst Award given to recognize an individual who has made a significant impact supporting women in the industry will be renamed to honor the late Frieda Rapoport Caplan.
