State Representative Betsy Coffia (D-Traverse City) and Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Director Tim Boring announced that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has submitted a letter to the United States Department of Agriculture requesting a federal disaster declaration for northwest Michigan’s sweet cherry industry.

After 18 years leading the Colorado Potato Administrative Committee as executive director, Jim Ehrlich will retire at the end of October.
