Wakefern Food Corp. is piloting the innovative Kardex Remstar Shuttle XP Vertical Lift Module storage solution at the ShopRite of Kingston in Kingston, NY, to enhance the store’s online shopping service. Wakefern, the logistics, merchandising and distribution arm for ShopRite stores, is the second grocery retailer nationwide to utilize this space-saving technology.

Oxnard, CA-based Mission Produce Inc. began its journey as a public company Oct. 1, 2020, with the initial public offering  of 8 million share of its common stock on the NASDAQ Stock Market under the symbol AVO. The IPO opened at $12 and closed on its first day at $13.80, an initial one-day gain of 15 percent. Earlier today the stock was $20, up more than 60 percent from the initial public offering. Mission's stock has gained the attention of investors, and now The Wall Street Journal is looking to help spread the good word.

Garlic was a must-have product during the pandemic. As the rise of in-home dining and amateur chefs popped up consumers cooked with garlic like never before.

Grocery stores saw garlic demand reach record highs, and some found it hard to keep in stock, even as prices continued to rise. The rise in sales created a shortage of aromatic garlic bulbs at the supermarket and saw prices of both jumbo-size and conventional jumbo 30-pound carton of white garlic more than double in price.
