G&R Farms partnered with 13 regional and national retail operators throughout the United States earlier this year to raise nearly $90,000 in scholarship and grant funds for Future Farmers of America students in 22 states through the Growing America’s Farmer’s promotional program.

Apples are the backbone of Superfresh Growers and have been a part of its five generations of growing since the late 1800s when the company first started farming apples and pears in Washington's Yakima Valley.

“Apples make up the biggest percentage of our overall profile spanning organic and conventional apples, pears, cherries, apricot, kiwi berries and blueberries,” said Catherine Gipe-Stewart, communications manager for the Yakima, WA-based company. “Superfresh Growers grows about 20 to 25 percent of our apples as organic, depending on the variety.”

Southern Valley Fruit and Vegetable Inc. announced a partnership with Make-A-Wish for the month of September. The company is donating a percentage of every package sold to Make-A-Wish, which includes bagged and tray-packed items with the Make-A-Wish logo at multiple retail partner locations.
