Basin Gold Cooperative and Sun-Glo will represent Fresh Solutions Network LLC at booth No. 512 at this week’s IFPA Foodservice Expo in Monterey, CA.  They will be featuring A Cut Above fresh potatoes, select Idaho Russets, and a full range of onions (red, yellow and white).  A Cut Above potatoes use select white and Russet potato varieties to yield consistently superior house-made baked, mashed, potato chips and French fries.

The Kroger Co. and Canadian retailer Alimentation Couche-Tard/Circle K were among some of the investors to taking part in the $100 million fundraising for ghost kitchen and restaurant hub technology pioneer Kitchen United. On completion of this round, Kitchen United has raised a total of approximately $175 million.

In the past two years, Kitchen United has unveiled multiple industry-leading initiatives, including collaborations in grocery with Kroger and at Simon properties nationwide.

Foodservice has always been an important part of Gold Coast Packing’s business and has helped the company thrive through the years.

“Recently we have started to focus a lot on the retail sector and offer more items for our retail customers,” said Crystal Chavez, marketing coordinator for the Santa Maria, CA-based company. “Still, the majority of our offerings remain foodservice-focused.”

After a two-year hiatus as an in-person event, due to the pandemic lockdown, United Natural Foods Inc. held its annual Conventional Expo July 19-21 in Minneapolis, MN. The show connected nearly 2,700 retail customers with UNFI’s large network of suppliers and helped the independents to prepare for the upcoming holiday and spring selling seasons.

There were approximately 700 suppliers covering more than 200,000 square feet of exhibit space and the new product showcase introduced 270 new products and 250 sustainable and healthy planet items.
