Like many potato growers in Idaho, Wilcox Fresh is uncertain at this point what the season will bring. But one thing is certain — it has been a year like no other in recent memory.

“We’re basically in a wait-and-see situation with volume, and we’re hoping that yields aren’t too far off last year,” said Derek Peterson, vice president of sales and operations for the Rexburg, ID-based grower-shipper.

In September, in the greenhouse in the desert Hema Village in Inner Mongolia, dozens of colorful phalaenopsis flowers are blooming and growing vigorously, preparing for the upcoming festival time. According to the calculation of Hema Fresh consumption big data, with the coming of Teachers' Day, Mid-Autumn Festival and the national holiday, the flower market is gradually warming up. It is expected that during the festivals, flower orders will increase by more than two times compared with last year.
