Phillips Mushroom Farms, a fourth-generation family business with more than 95 years of experience growing fresh, high-quality mushrooms, is launching its first vegan stuffed mushroom, created in partnership with Philadelphia-based plant-based cheese innovator Bandit. 

Giorgio Fresh is expanding its digital presence with a targeted influencer strategy aimed at connecting with younger consumers. By partnering with food creators and content-driven chefs, Giorgio is delivering its message of real food, bold flavors and everyday versatility directly to Millennial and Gen Z audiences.

The Mushroom Council announced a bold new marketing platform and tagline, “It’s Not Magic. It’s Mushrooms.,” aimed at attracting the next generation of mushroom shoppers and driving long-term category growth.

Developed with direct input from a marketing task force made up of mushroom industry leaders, the platform addresses a new target audience of emerging consumers: current light and medium mushroom shoppers whose profiles skew younger to Millennial and Gen Z. The goal is to move these consumers up the purchase-frequency ladder toward heavy mushroom shoppers.

During expo hours at the International Fresh Produce Association’s Global Produce & Floral Show, Giorgio Fresh Co. plans to go beyond displaying its whole, sliced and value-added mushroom products.

The company will bring those products to life on the show floor, according to Bryan Shelton, vice president of sales and marketing.

The Fresh Mushrooms Fair Trade Coalition, representing leading U.S. growers and packers of fresh Agaricus mushrooms and represented by the law firm of Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, announced the filing of an antidumping and countervailing duty petition with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. International Trade Commission. The petition seeks relief from unfairly traded imports of fresh mushrooms from Canada that are causing material injury to the domestic industry.
