Mucci Farms, a leading grower and marketer of fresh produce, acquired Greenhill Produce, a state-of-the-art, nearly 150-acre greenhouse facility in Kent Bridge, ON. As part of the newly established Cox Farms company, Mucci Farms continues to push the boundaries of sustainable agriculture, surpassing over 650-acres of greenhouses in Canada and the United States, helping to make Cox Farms one of the largest owners of greenhouse acreage in North America.

One of the largest fully integrated high-tech greenhouse companies to own and operate farms in Canada, Mexico and the U.S., Red Sun officials hope to educate attendees on how vertical integration closes the gap between grower, retailer and the consumer.

BrightFarms opened its new greenhouse hub in Yorkville, IL, a city within the Chicago metropolitan area. This is the first of three new regional greenhouse hubs opening for BrightFarms in 2024, tripling the company’s capacity to provide fresh, locally grown leafy greens to consumers across the eastern and central U.S.

Windset Farms planted its new 24-acre sustainably lit greenhouse expansion in Delta, BC. The new greenhouse — in conjunction with the addition of LED lighting in its existing greenhouse facility totaling 48 acres of Windset’s 92 acres in Delta — will be the largest lit facility in western North America.

Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers was recognized with a Gold Hermes Award for the Greenhouse Goodness Digital campaign.

The association launched Greenhouse Goodness as an education campaign in top U.S. markets to highlight the many benefits of making greenhouse-grown peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes the preferred choice for healthy, convenient, delicious and always fresh. The campaign, “This is Greenhouse Goodness,” features bright, fresh and healthy choices that leave the consumer with just that — feeling good.

Little Leaf Farms expanded in McAdoo, PA, with a new greenhouse set to open this fall. The new 10-acre greenhouse is the third greenhouse for Little Leaf Farms in the state and will make Little Leaf Farms' Pennsylvania campus the largest leafy greens CEA campus in North America.

The company also closed a new credit facility with capacity of $250 million so it is well-positioned to expand its production capacity, enhance distribution channels and further establish itself as a leading provider of CEA lettuce.
