The trend line toward growth in organic avocado sales has been clear for years, particularly for shoppers looking for California avocados both as a healthy and sustainable option, according to Nic Vallejo, sales and business development at Index Fresh.

West Pak Avocado, a leading global distributor of premium avocados, unveiled a new price look-up sticker as part of an industry initiative through Avocados From Mexico. The program was created by AFM to help shoppers more easily identify quality Mexican avocados. West Pak’s new PLU sticker features the company’s branding along with the AFM logo with its signature PANTONE color.

Spring has sprung and California avocado season has begun in earnest. Winter and early spring rains contributed to delaying the usual start of harvesting but were excellent for California avocado tree health. As a result, the 257 million pounds of California avocados estimated for this season likely will be concentrated from late April through summer.
