The New England Produce Council Inc. has announced that the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is the new venue for its 2022 Produce, Floral & Food Service Expo, scheduled to take place Aug. 24-25.

Family-owned, Southern California-based Mellano & Co. is continuing a nearly 90-year tradition of providing and sourcing flowers for The Rose Parade. The third-generation floral company was started by Giovanni Mellano, an Italian immigrant flower farmer, in 1925. Mellano & Co. has since provided flowers in some shape or form to the Rose Parade for over eight decades.

Big Y in partnership with the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation and with the support of other funders, is entering the eighth year of the Local Farmer Awards program, which has helped more than 225 farmers carry out a total of 400 projects.

Farmers in western Massachusetts are invited to apply for awards of up to $2,500 for capital/infrastructure improvement projects related to growing, harvesting and processing that will help farms compete in the marketplace
