Krasdale Foods Inc., a 112-year-old, family-owned business providing essential services to supermarket operators, including grocery distribution, merchandising, marketing and financing, has named Gus Lebiak as its new president and chief operating officer effective Jan. 1, 2021.

Village Farms International Inc. announced its wholly owned subsidiary, Village Farms Clean Energy Inc., has renewed and extended its existing contract with the city of Vancouver under which VFCE receives landfill gas captured by the city of Vancouver at the city's landfill site in Delta, BC.

The 20-year extension period, with an option for an additional five-year extension period, commences upon start-up of the Delta RNG Project commercial operations.

U.S. potato exports for the July to September quarter were down significantly compared to the same period in 2019. This drop is a result of the pandemic’s continuing impact on the demand in many markets, particularly in southeast Asia and Central America, and the tight supplies of U.S. frozen potato products. Additionally, exports for this period in 2019 were at record levels, so the bar was set very high.

This week Southeastern Grocers Inc. celebrated the grand opening of four new Winn-Dixie stores. These openings are the first of eight new Winn-Dixie stores scheduled to open throughout Florida. The continued expansion will include three new stores later this year and one in early 2021.
