This winter, aggressive expansion is on tap for the Mexican vegetable program of GreenPoint Distributing LLC.

Alfred Nuñez, the director of sales for the Nogales company, cited many commodities that will see increased volume and a longer shipping period than in the past. He said most of these products were handled by GreenPoint in the past.

Global logistics company C.H. Robinson revealed that U.S. companies importing from China could be missing out on more than a billion dollars in refunds via Section 301 tariff exclusions. The vast majority of these refund opportunities, which have continued to be updated since 301 tariffs were implemented as a result of the U.S.- China trade war, are set to expire Dec. 31. With two-thirds of Chinese imported goods subject to 301 tariffs, businesses both large and small may be leaving millions on the table if they don’t take action.

Walmart said its net sales and operating results continue to be affected by the global health crisis. Increased demand for products across multiple categories led to strong top-line and gross margin results.

For Q3, total revenue was $134.7 billion, an increase of $6.7 billion, or 5.2 percent. Walmart U.S. comp sales increased 6.4 percent with strength across key categories, including general merchandise, health & wellness and food.

Walmart U.S. eCommerce sales grew 79 percent with strong results across all channels, while Sam’s Club eCommerce sales grew 41 percent.

Persian cucumber popularity is quickly expanding and Divine Flavor is providing the item, according to Michael DuPuis, the firm’s marketing coordinator. The product came into strong volume in November.

“We and our customers are very pleased” with the product, he said. “We are very keen on the Persian cukes. They are a great-tasting, snacking produce item.”

Ark Foods has purchased and opened its first-ever owned property, a 12,000-square-foot packhouse within the historic farming community of Immokalee, FL. The Ark Foods team has been farming in Immokalee — a hub of agricultural output — since 2014.

This acquisition is a major move for Ark Foods’ mission to make unique vegetables more accessible and affordable in grocery stores across the country. After a summer of upgrades and improvements, the new packhouse is fully operational as of November 2020.
