Divine Flavor has started receiving its first shipments of grapes, officially kicking off its Sonoran grape program for 2021. This season the company anticipates packing more than 5 million boxes out of northern Mexico, which is about a 25 percent increase from last year

Leading the way is Carlos Bon, Divine Flavor’s vice president of sales, who is preparing the company for its biggest commercial volume season since the company was established in 2006.

Legend Produce, a leading grower and marketer of melons, hired Marc Beoshanz as the newest farming operations manager.

This summer, with plans to host the expo in Los Angeles, the state’s limitations on larger indoor gatherings has forced United Fresh to, once again, reimagine a new solution for connecting the produce supply chain.

The 2021 cherry crop is shaping up nicely so far, according to Rochelle Bohm, brand manager for CMI Orchards in Wenatchee, WA. “Timing looks to be a little later than last year by about six days, which could make early June supply a challenge,” said Bohm, adding that it was a healthy crop in general with a good spread so far between all the growing districts.

Gem Tomato Sales Inc. began in 1982 with offices in Arkansas, Florida and Michigan, marketing and promoting fresh market vine-ripened summertime tomatoes. In 1999, Gary Margolis, president of the company, teamed with Triple M Farms owners Wendell Moffatt and James Meeks and both businesses skyrocketed.

With the Arkansas tomato harvest approaching, both companies are ready to capitalize on the growing demand for tomatoes.
