Southeastern Grocers Inc. has sold off its Fresco y Más banner to Fresco Retail Group LLC. SEG continues to own and operate Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie grocery stores.

The Chilean Stone Fruit Committee has released a new estimate for this season, including nectarines, Japanese plums, European plums and peaches. Forty-four companies, representing 84 percent of Chile’s global stone fruit exports last season, contributed to the estimate.

In addition to a full schedule of networking opportunities, attendees were able to take part in an educational program that looked into what drives conscious consumers.

Crunch Time Apple Growers, a cooperative of more than 150 growers throughout New York State, market two apple varieties, SnapDragon and RubyFrost.

“SnapDragon is marketed straight out of the orchard in late September,” said Jessica Wells, executive director of the Lockport, NY-based entity. “RubyFrost is harvest primarily in mid-October and put into storage. A small number of RubyFrost are kept on the trees a little longer and harvested later in October for marketing immediately.”
