Jumpin’ for Jersey Fresh
Jersey Fresh is the promotional and quality grading program launched in 1984 to help farmers inform consumers about the availability and variety of fruits and vegetables grown in New Jersey. Through the 35-plus years of the program, consumers' awareness has increased, and it has been the benchmark for other states initiating their own state-grown agricultural marketing programs. New Jersey grows more than 100 different varieties of fruits, vegetables and herbs. New Jersey is also ranked nationally as a top 10 producer of several items including blueberries, peaches, peppers, squash, tomatoes, eggplants and more.
Begun as a radio campaign, the Jersey Fresh program has expanded to use billboards, social media, online and print ads, with point-of-purchase materials to remind consumers about the availability of locally grown products. The Jersey Fresh message has reached nearly every state in the nation and into Eastern Canada with emphasis on the New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania tri-state area and into New England. This year, more than ever, customers want to know where their food is coming from. Source Jersey Fresh with confidence.
