“We will be promoting the consistency of our year-round sweet onion program on both coasts at booth number 365 at the New York Produce Show in December,” said Brian Kastick, president of Oso Sweet Onions, headquartered in Savannah, GA. “The timing of the show is good for us as we are big shipper of sweet onions in December, January and February. Peruvian sweet onions will run through January, and we’ll have product from Chile and Mexico in January, February and early March, and we’ll have onions from Vidalia, Georgia, New Mexico and Nevada help to take us through the year.”

The team at Nash Produce in Nashville, NC, has been racking up plenty of frequent flyer miles over the past 18 months. A year-and-a-half ago the growing sweet potato grower-shipper set out on an ambitious schedule to make its name known throughout the industry.

More than a dozen trade shows later all that effort is starting to pay off.

Maurice A. Auerbach, located in Secaucus, NJ, is a veteran of the New York Produce Show & Conference. Bruce Klein, director of marketing for the company said that both the first and second year shows in New York City were great experiences, and the company is anticipating an even better event at the new Pier 94 location on 55th Street and the West Side Highway.

“The New York Produce Show is a great event in that it enables us to network with our partners in the New York region,” said Chris Veillon, director of marketing for Mastronardi Produce headquartered in Leamington, ON. “We have a strong presence in the city and in the regional area, so it certainly helps to have a centrally located event like this to allow for partners to come in for the day.”

Mr. Veillon said that Mastronardi would be at booth No. 546 at the show, noting that it’s the third consecutive New York show that the company has exhibited at.

Bill Litvin, regional sales and national account manager for Giorgio Fresh Co., headquartered in Temple, PA, said that company will be exhibiting at the New York Produce Show & Conference Dec. 4-6 in New York City.

Sal Vacca, president of A.J. Trucco Inc., located at the Hunts Point Terminal Produce Market in the Bronx, NY, told The Produce News that the company would be promoting Italian chestnuts heavily at the New York Produce Show & Conference on Dec. 4-6 in New York City. The company has exhibited at the show since it began two years ago.
