EVERETT, MA — Following a successful New England Produce Council Expo, held here on Aug. 20 at the Encore Hotel & Casino just outside of downtown Boston, JOH invited its valued customers and clients to a reception at the Night Shift Brewing Kitchen & Tap.

The New England Produce Council drew a big and energetic crowd to its 2024 expo, held in Boston, Aug. 19-20. The council’s premier event drew a little over 1,000 attendees, and featured more than 160 booths, according to Laura Sullivan, the council’s executive director.

The NEPC Produce, Floral & Food Service Expo 2024 returned to the Encore Boston Harbor for the second year in a row, a venue which has proven to be very popular with NEPC executives and attendees alike.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is awarding $82.3 million to 65 recipients to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops — including fruits, vegetables, tree nuts and nursery crops — and support the industry’s producers. The funding is being awarded through USDA’s Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP) and the Specialty Crop Multi-State Grant (SCMP) Program.

Though J&C Tropicals is a top grower and distributor of dragon fruit in the United States, it also deals in a number of other popular tropical fruits.

Tops Friendly Markets, a leading full-service grocery retailer in New York, northern Pennsylvania and Vermont, announced that its annual campaign for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) raised over $407,000.  The campaign which ran at all participating Tops Friendly Markets locations concluded Saturday, July 6, 2024.
