Produce veteran retires from Lucky Strike Farms

hoppyLongtime produce veteran Michael W. (Hoppy) Hopkins, retired as of the start of the year. He spent the last 25 years at Lucky Strike Farms as retail sales manager.

Hopkins started in produce transportation in 1972 after a stint in the Air Force. Moving into marketing at Sahara Packing in 1982, he was eventually promoted to sales manager before joining the Lucky Strike team in 1992.

In 2014, he opened a central valley office for Lucky Strike Farms in Valley Springs, handling the company’s California chain store accounts.

An experienced musician, Hopkins played bass guitar with Badd Habitt for several years, performing throughout California. Hoppy and Cherilyn Hopkins, his wife of 50 years, will retire to their home in the village of Murphys.
