Business is strong for LaGrasso Bros., despite some logistics issues

Business is going great for Detroit-based LaGrasso Bros. Produce, even with the recent cold snap in weather in early January.

LaGrasso, fleet manager and purchasing for LaGrasso Bros. Produce, told The Produce News in early January.

But despite those issues, everything else seems to be smooth sailing at the family-run company, which is currently operated by third- and fourth-generation family members.

“Things are going great,” LaGrasso said. “We are seeing more and more new concepts that are beginning to move into the Michigan market.”

The improving economy in Detroit is definitely something to be celebrated, and produce companies are certainly reaping the benefits of new attractions and restaurants moving into the area.

“It is nice to see restaurants that you visit and enjoy in other states show up in your home state,” LaGrasso added.

LaGrasso Bros. prides itself on delivering the freshest, high-quality products to its client, from the Upper Peninsula to Sandusky, OH, and everywhere in between, including the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.
