Rice Fruit Co. pleased to announce its partnership with Ocean Crisp Apple Co.

Leading Pennsylvania apple producer, and now importer, Rice Fruit Co., headquartered in Gardners, PA, has maintained a keen eye on variety demand and in introducing new varieties throughout its more than 105-year history. It produces varieties that are mainstays on kitchen counters.

It recently announced a partnership that will enable it to offer an exciting new program to its customers.

IMG 0838 “Rice Fruit Co. is pleased to partner with Ocean Crisp Apple Co. to offer premium Honeycrisp apples grown on the coast of Nova Scotia,” said Brenda Briggs, vice president of sales and marketing. “This partnership allows us to keep our customers stocked with a 100-percent eastern-grown Honeycrisp program from August through April. These Canadian Honeycrisp will be branded under the Ocean Crisp brand, and are currently available in traypack and poly bags.”

Briggs will be joined at the Southeast Produce Council Southern Exposure expo and conference on March 7-9 in Orlando, FL, by Maggie Travis, sales account manager for Rice Fruit, at Booth No. 316. Together, and in addition to presenting its full line of apples and specialized packaging, they will share the details of this exciting new program with existing and prospective clients.

“We have been a member of the Southeast Produce Council since 2012, and we’ve been exhibiting at Southern Exposure since 2013,” explained Briggs. “We are proud sponsors of the Southern Roots’ event at the show. This program brings women produce professionals together for a few hours of networking and inspiration, and highlights all that women bring to business. It’s an event we always look forward to sponsoring year after year.”

“The planning team goes above and beyond to provide a unique experience with a powerful speaker, and we look forward to experiencing what they have planned this year,” she added.

Briggs pointed out that every year the SEPC Southern Roots’ committee brings an incredible speaker who energizes the audience and inspires every attendee to be their best self.

“Overall, Southern Exposure provides us with a tremendous opportunity to build relationships and share experiences,” noted Briggs. “We appreciate the effort that the Southeast Produce Council has put into developing this show, and we are especially are impressed with the attendance of retail representatives. It’s a great show to connect with our buyers and partners around the country, while enjoying some Florida sunshine.”

Always growing and expanding, Rice Fruit Co. has increased its sales staff to keep up with the growing demand for its apples.

“We are proud to announce that we have added Alma Tacuba to our sales team as a sales assistant,” said Briggs. “Alma has worked in various positions with Rice Fruit Co. for the past four years. She is a welcome addition to our sales team.”
